User Guide for the VQube Client
1. Installing VQube Client
Installing VQube Client is very simple.
Download the VQubeSetup.exe file to your desktop. If you already have the
previous version of VQube we recommend that you uninstall it
before proceeding. Double click on the VQubeSetup.exe file.
This will start installing the VQube Client Application. Select
the folder where you want the files to be installed. The default
folder is in C:\Program Files\ . After installation, you will
get a shortcut on the desktop. To execute the application,
double click on the short-cut.
2. Tuning on the Sound Card
You will need speakers and Microphone to use VQube Client
application. It is better to have a headsets, otherwise you may
get echo from your speakers. The sound card settings are
automatically taken care of when VQube Client starts. However,
it is better to check this setting once. Open VQube Client and
right click on the skin. You will find a menu "Audio Tuning
Wizard". Click on the menu and it will guide you through the
rest of your sound card tuning.
3. SignUp and Login
Logging in to VQube server is necessary to initiate/receive
calls. You need to remember your User-ID and password to
'Sign-In' next time. You can also set in the 'Sign-In' window to
make VQube application to remember your User-ID and password. If
you do not have an account, you will find a "Signup" button in
the login window. Click on the button and you will get a
register form. Fill the details and submit your signup request.
You will get an acknowledgement. If signup was unsuccessful,
please try with different email ID (username) else contact
support@esqube.com

Initiate 1-1 calls
Once you login and get a 'Login successful' message, you
are ready to make P2P calls.

The blue handset icon (as shown above) is to make a call and
the red button is to disconnect an ongoing call. To enter the
address of the other person, you need to enter in the space
provided on the VQube application front-end (Address box). You
will get a tool tip as soon as you login as to where you need to
enter the address for making calls. Enter the Login-ID address
of the person you want to call and press 'Enter' or the blue
handset icon.
If the callee is logged into VQube Server, you will get a ring
back/busy tone and a message "Alerting user" in the space where
you entered the address. Once the callee accepts your call, the
message will show "Connected:" and also the duration of the
call.
To disconnect the call, press the red handset icon. After some
delay the call gets closed.
You can also redial the last dialed address by clicking the icon
below the 'green handset' icon as shown below.

5. Receiving Calls
When you have 'logged in’ and someone calls you, a new dialog
box would 'pop-up'. You can get the information about the
calling person. If you wish to accept the call, press the
'Accept' button. Else press the 'Reject' button. When you press
the accept button, the call is connected immediately. When you
press the Reject button, the calling person will get a message
that you are unable to answer the call.
6. Conferencing
VQube has a powerful peer-to-peer conferencing solution. This
feature allows you to invite a third party into the existing 1-1
call. The conferencing solution works on low bandwidth
connections. To invite the third party, click on the icon shown
below.

The same call button will be changed so as to invite a third
party into the conference (irrespective of whether the other
person is using the latest version or not). Only three party
conferences are allowed at present.
Once you click on the button, a dialog box will pop up.
Enter the User ID of the third party or select the user from the
Address book by pressing the “green handset” icon in the address
book.
To close the conference, if the person who invited the third
person leaves the call / conference is closed. If the third
party or the other party releases the conference, the call is
switched to 1-1 call.
7. VQube Client Voice Mail and Answering Machine
A significant change from the previous version is the Voice Mail
feature and Answering Machine. You can read your voice messages
by click on the icon as shown above. A new dialog box would
pop-up. You can now start recording by click the button with the
same icon as shown above. A separate Voice Mail Help file is
included in the Voice Mail Box.
Answering Machine

VQube Client has a powerful Answering machine feature. This
feature allows you to get messages left by people when you were
not available to pick the call. This feature is different from
Voice Mail. In Voice Mail, the voice message is recorded as a
file and sent using a reliable form. The quality of the Voice
Mail is much superior. In Answering machine, the voice message
is recorded Real time. It thus depends on the network bandwidth
available to you at that moment.
You can leave a customized message to your contacts from whom
you are expecting a call. For example, your secretary is
supposed to call you, you can leave a message to your secretary
[by right clicking on the VQube Client skin and select Answering
Machine menu under Preferences menu]. You can alternatively
leave a message common for all. The caller will listen to your
message first and later will leave a message for you.
8. Instant Messaging - VQube Chat
You can initiate an 'Instant Message' in two different ways. (a)
You can type the 'Login-ID' of the person with whom you want to
chat in the 'Address box' and click the chat button with the
icon as shown above. (b) when you are in a call, you can press
the chat button, immediately you will be connected to the other
party. You have to click the flashing VQube chat window (with
sound alert) in the task bar. You can now type messages in the
popup window.
You can also initiate a Chat conference by selecting the Buddy
Window. You can now add contacts to your buddy so that you can
see them coming online. Click on the icon below to open your
buddy window.
9. VQube Client Address Book
You will find a 'book' icon as shown above. A popup window
(address book) would appear when you Click on the icon. You can
create an entry in the address book using the 'Login-ID', an
alias and a ringtone. You can also make a call from that dialog
box either by double clicking the entry in the address book or
selecting the entry and clicking the green handset icon.
10. VQube Floating address

You can now keep speed dial user id's on your desktop using the
floating address. Open the VQube Address book and right click on
the address you want to float in the desktop. You will find a
single menu "Floating". It will be "ticked" if the address if
previously floating. Click on the menu and you will find the
address float in the right side middle of the computer screen.
11. VQube Call Recording
You can record a call live by selecting the "Record this Call"
menu by right clicking on the VQube Client skin. At present,
there is no authorization by the other client. To view the
recorded calls, select "Open Conversations" by right clicking on
the VQube Client skin.
12. VQube Client Options Tab
When you right click on the VQube application, you will find a
Options menu. In VQube Options, you will find three Tabs:
General Tab: In this Tab you have the option of minimizing the
VQube application in three different ways. The default is set to
minimize to system tray.
Appearance Tab: In this Tab you can change the display colour
and the font colour. When you change the font colour, you can
either keep the display colour of your choice or the system will
select a display colour that has a good contrast with the font
colour. You can also change the welcome name.
Connection Tab: In Connection Tab, you can change the VQube
Server Address. Please do not use this unless an administrator
of VQube asks you to. This needs to address of the VQube Server
and not any proxy server or your gateway server.
13. VQube Feedback
You can now send feedback and suggestions about VQube Client.
Right click on the VQube Client skin. In the list of menu,
select “Send Feedback”. You will see a Feedback Dialog. Please
fill in the details and press “Send” button. Any feedback,
suggestions and improvements of VQube are welcome.
